FASHIONING THE WOMEN OF WEEKSVILLE
Fashioning The Women Of Weeksville is the first fashion exhibition exploring the Weeksville Heritage Center Textiles Collection. This exhibition displays garments and accessories from residents of Weeksville from the 1860s through the 1940s, as well as sketches, captivating photos, oral histories surround the topic of dress and style in Weeksville, and a short film: "The Spirit Of Eve", created by one of the exhibition's curators Noel Corbin. Fashioning The Women Of Weeksville also includes recreated stage costumes from our 2016 play, “Freedman’s Torchlight ”, designed by costume students throughout New York City.
