Fashioning the Women
of Weeksville

After a powerful one-day conference, 'Fashioning The Black Body In Bondage & Freedom', Weeksville Heritage Center brought to life the personal style of the women residing in Weeksville from 1890 to 1950.

'Fashioning the Women of Weeksville', opened June  and ran through September 2017. Programming included a second "Fashioning the Black Body" conference, a Meet the Curators event for the Weeksville Ambassadors, and fashion illustration workshops led by Damien Joel.

Learn more about the exhibition from its curators, Noel Corbin and Natalya Mills from their guest spot on the 'Unravel: Fashion" podcast.
