Items in Weeksville's Collection

Items in Weeksville’s collection range from artifacts (pictured) found during archaeological digs to furniture used to interpret the houses. The archeological dig was started in 1968 when it was learned that a block of houses bounded by Troy Avenue, Pacific Street, Schenectady Avenue and Dean Street were about to be cleared to build new city housing. The site of the dig eventually became the location of the New York Housing Authority’s Weeksville Gardens Houses.
