Beginning in 1837 with the founding of Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, historically Black colleges and universities have not only educated the best and the brightest, but led the charge of social activism movements, created the Black middle class, and connected the African diaspora. We celebrate this legacy on April 11th and invite you all to join us as we, in collaboration with HBCU Hub, screen "Tell Them We Are Rising: The History of Black Colleges and Universities".
After the screening, there will be a community conversation about the future of HBCUs and how we can continue to support and sustain them for the generations behind us.
Round up your college friends, sorors/frat, and college-bound young people in your community for this exciting evening. We want to know what school you rep, so don't forget your 'nalia!
