Join Weeksville Heritage Center this summer for a 50th anniversary opening of two blockbuster exhibitions; ‘In Pursuit of Freedom Now!’ a pop up public history exhibit amplifying the roots and wings of activism and ‘Forward Ever! Sacred Ground & Sovereign Space’ a contemporary art exhibit, exploring our creative resilience that seeks to reclaim sovereign spaces where we can be brilliant, Black and free.

Curated by Monica Montgomery, this duo of exhibitions includes programs the whole family can enjoy, dozens of partners and event activations that engage black communities from Brooklyn and beyond. IPOF Now! + Forward Ever! features the lush, beautiful campus of Weeksville Heritage Center as a launch pad of freedom, justice and meaning making, giving visitors the chance to participate and shape our exhibits.
