Safeguarding Heritage: Art, Community, and the Preservation of Black Spaces

Please join us on Wednesday, Feb 28th at 6pm for a thought-provoking evening as Council Member Crystal Hudson (District 35) leads a compelling discussion alongside esteemed community leaders. Together, we’ll delve into innovative strategies and collaborative initiatives aimed at preserving the profound legacies within Black communities.

Set against the backdrop of Weeksville Heritage Center, this event promises to be both enlightening and inspiring. Council Member Hudson will moderate our esteemed panel, featuring Dr. Raymond Codrington, President and CEO of Weeksville Heritage Center; Shanna Sabio, Co-founder and Executive Director of GrowHouse NYC; and Barbara Bullard, President and CEO of the Shirley Chisholm Cultural Institute.

Adding to the evening, we’ll be treated to a performance of Ingrid Griffith’s acclaimed one-woman show, “Shirley Chisholm: Unbossed and Unbowed.”
