Torchlight Talk: The Gist of Bid Whist by Lamont Jones

Join us for our February Torchlight Talk featuring Lamont Jones, author of The Gist of Bid Whist on Thursday, Feb 29th at 6pm!

This month’s Torchlight Talk features a twist… it’s also card night! Following an insightful conversation with author Lamont Jones about his new book and the significant historical links between the card game and Black folks throughout history, Jones will lead us in a brief tutorial on the basics of the game.

Open play will follow, so bring your favorite partner and come prepared to play Spades, Bridge, Hearts, or Gin Rummy! Door prizes will be awarded courtesy of the good folks at Bicycle Playing Cards. Light bites and refreshments will also be served.
