sessions is a space for deep listening, curated by Lovie of summer school radio.
The inaugural event in an ongoing series, sessions will transform Weeksville Heritage Center’s performance space into an experiential room for sound, featuring three hours of curated music tailored for deep listening, contemplation, grooving, and feeling. for session (1), Lovie (summer school radio) and Alex Rita (Touching Bass, Calm Roots) will be at the sonic helm, with KARLALA sound system on amplification.

When the session begins, attendees will be asked to refrain from talking, and the space will be phone and photo free. Thisthis is a seated space, and you are welcome to bring what you would like in order to feel comfortable.
Tea, refreshments, and mocktails provided by Figlia, will be served between 6 and 7 pm, with sound starting at 7.
Lovie (summer school radio) – Lovie is a DJ based in Brooklyn, NY. Herher sounds guarantee a sweet, soulful, and spiritual selection, as she moves across genres with a subtle softness. Since it’s first broadcast in 2020, her online radio show summer school radio has been rooted in a love of music sharing amongst friends. It broadcasts monthly on The Lot Radio to a community of dedicated listeners.
Alex Rita (Calm Roots) — Alex Rita is a Copenhagen-born, London-based selector, illustrator, singer and designer. Listeners will be blessed with everything from spiritual jazz and soul to broken beat and warm house grooves in one sitting. Through Calm Roots, Alex Rita curates a monthly two hours show on NTS Radio and in person listening events of hypnotic, meditative sounds.
