Our Weeksville Watch Nights series for February closes out with a screening of the powerful documentary drama, “I Heard It Through the Grapevine“ and deep listening session curated by Alfreda’s Cinema on Feb 17th at 5pm.

The evening kicks off with a specially curated selection of Jazz, Motown, and Blues vinyls, setting the tone to delve into James Baldwin’s transformative journeys from New York to the South, accompanied by light bites.

Following the film, we’re honored to host a thought-provoking discussion with co-director Pat Hartley, alongside Melissa Lyde, Founder of Alfreda’s Cinema, and Erica Harper, VP of Education at Weeksville. Together, we’ll explore the complexities of navigating a “post” civil rights era.
