Through Fabric & Frame: Faith Ringgold, Lorraine O’Grady, and the Black Feminist Gaze

Join us for Through Fabric & Frame, a daylong exploration of Black feminist artistic traditions through the works of Faith Ringgold and Lorraine O'Grady. Enjoy a family-friendly reading of Tar Beach and art-making session, a quilting workshop inspired by Ringgold, and a discussion of O'Grady's Olympia’s Maid. Photographer Laila Annmarie Stevens will lead a photography activation, reactivating O'Grady’s Art Is... series. Timed sign-ups are required for the workshop and portrait sessions.

Rest and Restore Yoga

We invite you to join us at our Rest and Restore yoga series led by Six of Sensate Wellness and take a moment for you! Open to all ages and skill levels, and no rsvp required. Simply show up and join us for a rejuvenating yoga experience. *Space is limited and offered on a first come-first served basis. Please note that doors close 10 minutes after the class begins, so do plan to arrive on time.

Dinner and a Movie – Going To Mars:The Nikki Giovanni Project

Tickets for our Dinner and a Movie night are live! Join us on Friday, March 14th, from 6–9:30 PM for a screening of Going to Mars: The Nikki Giovanni Project, an intimate portrait of the People’s Poet, Nikki Giovanni. The evening will include a poetry and bookmaking workshop with OlaRonke Akinmowo, founder of the Free Black Women’s Library. Guided by OlaRonke, we’ll explore DIY bookmaking and Giovanni’s use of Black vernacular in her poetry. Dinner will be catered by Just Soul with a selection of soul food.
